Current Addiction Review

Okay so I'm really into natural products to cleanse and moisturize the skin and hair. Most of the mass marketed products for our skin and hair cause the very problem they claim to combat such as dry flaky skin and brittle dry hair. Some of these products contain petroleum, mineral oil and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which can be detrimental to our skin and hair.

My friend and colleague Anna who is an accomplished Chemist and Teacher has developed a fabulous line called Anthesis Organic Skincare. This organic skin care line features delightful whipped body butters which are hand made. These body butters come in several fun flavors such as "Lavender Love". They feature fragrant natural ingredients like Flower Water, Rose Essential Oil and Coconut Oil - yummy!

I have the Aloe & Chamomile which smells like fresh roses. It is so whipped that it looks like cake batter, between the smell and texture I have to stop myself from having a taste - which isn't an issue because it's all natural. Ha!

This is the best moisturizer I've ever used in my life! It feels good on  the skin and keeps your skin's thirst quenched for days. My legs feel sexy and has sheen without feeling greasy. You can use this on all of your body parts.....

If you want to experience Anthesis Organic Skincare you can visit the website here: http://anthesisorganicskincare.com/

You won't regret it!

Natural Addiction - Baking Soda

I use baking soda for just about everything. Right now I am singing the praises of baking soda to remove blackheads. Baking soda is like a dirt vaccum; it just sucks the dirt out and off of anything. I just gave myself a baking soda facial and my skin feels great. It's so soft and smooth! I am blackhead free without using Biore strips. Best of all, the ingredients used to make this mask can be found in your kitchen. All you need is baking soda and water. How to make the mask: Mix baking soda and a little bit of water together to form a paste. Rub the paste on your face and let it sit until completely dry. Rinse the mask off and dry the skin. Repeat this process over time to achieve clear skin as baking soda not only removes blackheads but also keeps acne at bay. How radiant is your skin now? You will never buy another box of Biore strips again.

Vouge 8647 (Cavalli)

Vouge 8647 (Cavalli) Originally uploaded by daisiduk1 I've been M.I.A. for a while. Between vacation and Summer, I haven't been updating like I should. Well, I'm back with a review of Vouge 8647 and Just Cavalli Fabric. I love this dress! I think the color may be a little off for my taste but I like the look of the dress. The pattern was super easy (even for me) and quick to make. I bought the Just Cavalli fabric from Mood Designer Fabric here in NYC. It is a cotton and lycra blend. The fabric was $20/yd and my first designer fabric ever. I obsessed over cutting it for at least a month or so. The fabric is perfect for draping as it moves so nicely. It looks great at any angle and has lots of flow to it. I wore this dress out to dinner with Mom for her birthday. She liked it so much, I might have to make one for her. It feels so good to be back!

TGIF

I love Fridays. The day our freedom begins. The last day to get ready for work, the last day to struggle with Trin to get her on her school bus. With warm weather among us Friday takes on a new definition. It can be the weekend getaway, or if you're lucky Friday can be a day off for several weeks (who is this lucky?!). Fridays = payday, extravagant lunches, afterwork cocktails with friends to catch up on the juicy tidbits that happened during the week. Friday is the day we get relief and let it all go.....until Monday morning. My Friday Lunch - Beef Pad See Ew & Thai iced tea at Pongsri in NYC, Delish! Enjoy your Friday! TGIF. What are you doing this Friday?
